I am getting a tattoo right below my navel. It’s about 5 inches long and will stop right above my…well you get the picture. I have 5 tattoos already. However, this is the first one that interferes with wearing clothes. I go in to talk to my tattoo artist Monday, but would like answers now so I can make an appropriate appointment time. It might be impossible to wear my pants lower than the tat or higher than the tat. I will NOT wear jeans. But…my question is…will it be ok to wear loose pants? (stretch pants/sweatpants) I can’t get an appointment on a Friday because she will be gone for a month on tattoo conventions. Not sure if I can get it done on a Tuesday and have it be not just ok, but good, while I work in loose pants for the rest of the week. Any experiences/advice someone can share? Thanks!

Meet Mr. “A”. “A” is 29 yrs old, good looking, intelligent, tattoo artist that’s also involved w/ politics & majored in biochem in college(quit college to be a tattoo artist, but he’s quite good though). He’s a “lady’s man.”
Last weekend, there was a very important tattoo convention for a company that he was starting to do work with. The person in charge of the convention paid for A’s airfare ticket so that “A” could travel for free & work this convention. The person in charge also spent a LOT of time & money putting “A” on the ads, website, etc. “A” knew this. The same day “A” was due to fly in for the convention, he wrote a simple e-mail saying “dude I don’t want to do this.” Now is he responsible enough to be having a kid??
Now meet Miss “B”. “B” is 24, has a Bachelor’s degree in biochem, also involved in political campaigns, has an artistic side like “A” but was too busy working her butt off at multiple boring jobs to ever pursue it(she came from poverty). “B” lives..

I’m debating whether or not to get my chest piece done at a convention or in a shop. If I do it at the convention, the artist wants me to enter into the Tattoo of the day contest thing. I think that is insanely cool, but I’m worried about my tattoo being rushed. Don’t you normally get larger tattoos over several different days?I have to travel either way, so that is not one of my concerns. If you could give me pros and cons for both, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, please share your experiences with your chest pieces/ tattoo conventions, etc.

Do you know anyone that will do like a draw up for a tattoo for free? I’m (hopefully) getting a chest piece tattoo @ a tattoo convention over spring break. I want something that I can show the artist, just like a general design. Do you know anyone that’s really good at drawing tattoo designs, that will do it for free? or a website where I can find an artist (other than deviantart)?

Where (in your opinion) is the best place in Wisconsin or the surrounding states to get a tattoo? I’ve been to Rick’s tattoo convention in Green Bay, but I can’t find any of the business cards I got while I was there.
This is my first tat, and I’m an artist, so I intend to be ridiculously picky about it and refuse to go to the shops where I live (in Oshkosh.) I’ve seen their portfolios and I am not impressed.
If you can speak from personal experience, that would be great. Word of mouth from friends works too. Thanks!
